Museum
The municipality of Rolo for many years committed to fostering the knowledge and appreciation of the great heritage of culture linked to local wood inlay tradition. To achive these purposes, in 1994, he founded the Museum of marquetry of Rolo, with an adjoining Documentation center and Research.
The Museum bases its cultural and exhibition identity on the study of the techniques of cabinet and decorative wood inlay. The attention obviously focused on local cabinet makers, but are not ignored the necessary comparisons with other areas of production.
If in Italy there are numerous public and private collections of furniture and wooden furniture, there are few museums that offer as in Rolo, a scientific and educational path that goes from raw materials to finished inlaid furniture. The local Museum also traces the historical destiny of a craft pole which at times has come to occupy hundreds of employees.
